Meaning
Process limits are established to prevent machine damage or part defects during the high-speed filling of a mould. A dynamic pressure threshold acts as a safety cutoff that stops the injection stroke if the hydraulic or cavity pressure exceeds a pre-set level. This protection is necessary when using small nozzles or when the resin viscosity is unexpectedly high.
Injection Force
Resistance to the movement of the screw creates a spike in pressure that must be managed by the controller. If the dynamic pressure threshold is reached, the machine may abort the cycle to protect the tool from flash or the screw from mechanical failure. This setting is often used as a diagnostic tool to identify blocked gates or frozen tips.
Control Boundary
Maintaining a stable process requires the operating pressure to stay well below the maximum limit. When the dynamic pressure threshold is set too close to the normal operating range, minor batch variations can trigger false alarms and stop production. A gap of at least ten percent is typically maintained between the peak injection pressure and the safety limit.
The controller must be capable of processing these inputs in real time to prevent damage.
Safety Setting
Preventing catastrophic failure of the mould or the injection unit is the primary function of this parameter. The machine must respond within milliseconds of reaching the dynamic pressure threshold to be effective.
