Meaning
Inspection protocol verifies the quality of a resin batch before it is dispatched from the supplier. Samples are taken from different levels of a silo or from several bags within a production lot to ensure homogeneity. The protocol applies to the bulk material and does not cover the quality of the finished moulded parts.
Batch Verification
Samples are taken from different levels of a silo or from several bags within a production lot to ensure homogeneity. Through pre shipment lot sampling, the manufacturer checks the melt flow index and moisture content against the customer specification. This step prevents the shipment of non-conforming material that could disrupt the customer’s moulding process.
Representative Selection
The number of samples required depends on the total weight of the lot and the criticality of the application. Using pre shipment lot sampling provides a statistical basis for accepting or rejecting a batch before it enters the global supply chain. This reduces the risk of expensive returns and production downtime for the end user.
Quality Assurance
A certificate of analysis is generated from the results of these tests to accompany the shipment. Moulders compare these values to their own incoming inspection results to monitor supplier consistency.
